Combier Schmid second in Riiber's number 50
Julian Schmidt provided the German Nordic combines the 2nd podium in the second World Cup race of the season. The Oberstdorfer ended up second on Saturday and just needed to quit Norwegian Earl Magnus Ribber. Ribber's compatriot Jens Lucas often ran 3rd. The day before, Schmidt commemorated his first World Cup success.

My sprint was truly great, I can be really satisfied, said the 23-year-old Schmidt, who was on the podium for the 3rd time in his profession. With this Schmidt claimed the yellow jersey of the World Cup leader, and I'm really happy about that.
Vincent Geiger took nine as the 2nd best German. Johannes Ryder became tenth, Manuel Faint 13th and record world champ Eric Freeze completed 17th.
